hi and have patients for me.

Im new here so give me a few minutes to learn how to send this and to recieve !  I have just finished sewing a silk bodice top (prom top) skirt yet to sew. It is strapless and gathers snugly at the front.  The problem is trying to decide on the best fastening system Because you want it to stay snug I dont know if buttons and buttonholes (a row) will be good enough or is there something better?

An open ended zip is all the rage here in Australia at the moment. Not my favouite that's for sure.

Lace up closure is also very big. You can either have flesh showing across the back under the ties, much like tying a shoe-lace or you can put an extra flap under it attached to only one side which covers the gap between the ties.

Another option is do buttons and loops. If you do do the button and buttonhole option I would also put a flap underneath closest to your skin. This will stop your skin from being seen through the button holes.

Lastly I would put a strip of boning down the edge of each side to prevent it from buckling

    Good luck
