Hockey Jersey Pattern

peony99 | Posted in Patterns on

Hello,

I am looking for a pattern for a men’s hockey jersey – they are pretty simple but I need the help of a pattern.  I’ve tried to search for one but no luck!  Any leads would be appreciated.  Please email me at [email protected] if you know where I might find one.  Thank you

    Hi,

Can you make a pattern from an existing jersey?  I just did some alterations to  one for a younger girl to be able to wear a men's XL and it lays out nice and flat.  It would be an easy one to trace.  there are several books out on making patterns from ready-to-wear, but the jersey seems pretty straight-forward.  Give it a try!

I was hoping to avoid that step but it looks like that's what I'll do -- thanks Nansi!

Let me know how it goes.  Most of them are a knit fabric and if you are familiar with the Stretch & Sew patterns and techniques, you shouldn't have any problems.  I've used those methods for 20 years on so many of my kids and my own clothes, they are invaluable.  I actually played women's hockey 3 years in college, so your question hit a bit of nostalgia for me!  Good luck!
