hot pad holder

craftyjudy01 | Posted in Patterns on

Does anyone have a pattern for those little microwave hot pad holders that you slip your hand in and it folds over ?  I had one and I’ve lost it or gave it to someone or who knows???  I’d like to make some for my DIL for Christmas —just got a new embroidery machine and I want to put a design on them.  Thanks!!!!!

Saw your request last night but had to go find my pattern and the website name so I am a while getting back to you.  I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but take a look at this site.  These are finger mitts for removing dishes from the microwave.  There is a downloadable pattern on the site.  These are on my list of things to make for Christmas gifts.  I think it will be a good use of scraps.

Thanks so much for your help!!!!  That is exactly what I want - I went to the site you told me about and I can get the instructions but I can't pull the pattern---I've sent them an Email - don't know what the problem might be - It's just saying the page I'm requesting is not available.  Maybe they can help me out - that's a nice site - they have some really good patterns and I registered for the forum... Just what I need - one more forum - I don't get anything done these days because these forums are soooo good!!!!!

Oh, no! I didn't try to print the instructions when I sent this link but it looks like several or all of the instructions for projects are giving the page unavailable message.  I hope they will answer you and fix the problem.  The pattern is basically an elongated circle about 7" long and 3" wide.  There are two smaller pieces that go on the back, for the fingers to slip into, that are about 2" long and the same width and shape as the ends of the first piece.  Hope that is understandable if you can't get the pattern.

I did hear back - they have been doing things to their web site and have now discovered that everything did not transfer when they set up their new site --- they are working on it but meanwhile I found what I needed on http://www.getcreativeshow.com/seminars/fingermitts.htm. exactly  the same thing that was on The Secret Workshop - possibly they work together but I was able to pull the pattern pieces so now I have one more thing to get done!!!!!   Or maybe 6 or 7 or however many I can do in addition to all my other pipedreams!!!!  Thanks again - I have now found a couple more sites.............

Thank you both for the links to the fingermitts!  Just last week, a friend was extolling the benefits of some little potholders she received as a gift, but these are so much more clever and beautiful.  In colors to match the kitchen, they'd make nice little gifts.
