I am wanting to replicate a skirt my mother had when I was a teenager that unfortunately she no longer has. It was an A-line lightweight corduroy in a cream colour(might have been handmade too) and she had taken it to a lady who somehow was able to put a design on it that my mom picked out/drew…the Jetsons . She had it done for her senior year of high school in 1964. I can get the material but have no idea on how to go about getting the design applied. I have a photoshop program that I am just learning to use and am good at drawing too. Also maybe a print company? Any input would be great, thanks! 😀

Applique/Embroidery
This is most likely a copyright issue. Maybe not an issue back in the sixties, but no professional will touch this without permission of the company that owns this character(s).
oops
Jetsons Image
Hanna Barbera is not that difficult to contact, if need be.
yikes
for personal use is okay
I am not an attorney, but I have been told by Florida attorneys it is not copyright infringement if it is for your personal use and not done for profit.in any way. So if you can transfer and/or embroider it yourself for your own use you are okay. I have put pictures on t=shirts for my kids by taking the pictures and using my inkjet printer to print on fabric transfer paper. Then I iron them onto the fabric. You could then use fabric paint, embroidery or whatever other variation that works for you.
