Does any one have a husquvarna machine. I was given one and I cant figure out what to do with the knob on the top left front side. I know its not a tension knob. but the book i have doesnt say. Can anyone help me

Is it possible to post a picture? There are many many different Viking machines out there. Could it possibly be the pressure foot pressure knob which you would rarely change. Some really thick and really thin fabrics feed better if the pressure is adjusted.

Do you have a model? That sounds like either an older model or a quilting machine. I have two Designer SEs and then don't have knobs.

I agree, a picture or madel number would be helpful. I think you are describing the foot pressure knob--dial it downward and you should see a crosshatch design very near the bottom--that's for darning, and a sure sign that it's the foot pressure knob. The Vikings are wonderful machines. Mine is a 940 and I hope it lasts forever. Also be sure to check the Viking web site; they may have older instruction books for download.
