industry “shortcuts”

HeartFire2 | Posted in General Discussion on

sometime in the past week or so, someone posted a message which I can’t find right now. She (I assume it was a ‘she’) was somewhat of a beginner I believe and wanted to know about how the sewing ‘industry’ does things. I couldn’t find this link at the time, but here is how jeans are made – it’s not something you can do at home! the ‘tricks’ the industry uses are very highly specialized machines that do one thing and one thing only, very little in some factories is done on a ‘regular’ sewing machine.
This video is facinating! it takes about 6 minutes to make a pair of jeans

Thank you so much for sharing that.  It was very interesting and eye opening.  Here, I thought I was pretty up to date on my sewing machine and serger. LOL
