I really only like doing invisible zippers. My problem is this maternity evening gown I am making with a lace overlay skirt. It is a gathered pseudo empire and that is the problem. I thought I would just do the back bodice pieces and attach the skirt to each piece and put inthe zipper. I thought I would then do the front skirt and attach to front bodice. and then do side seams. the problem is that the skirt is suppose to be gathered and I am skeptical of gathering each piece individually. Anyone have words of wisdom??I am up against a deadline…HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!thanks so much folks…Harriet

Doing the gathers in sections shouldn't be a problem. Just be sure to gather right up to the side or back seamline on each piece, but not in the seamline itself. It will be helpful if you actually mark the side seamlines for about 1 inch where one gathered piece will be joined to the next gathered piece to help you know exactly where to stop the gathers. Do the same at the center back edges as well.
zipper
thanks..so far so good
Invisible zipper
I would like to see the picture of what you are making after it gets finished if you don't mind so.
