I remember seeing an advertisement in Threads several months ago for a book that gave tips for “refitting” purchased T-shirts to improve the fit, but I have searched my back issues and can’t find it! Does anyone have the book or know where to get it? Any help would be much appreciated – Thanks!

Her pattern #103, the "T-Shirt Makeover," shows how to do what you describe.
Thanks for the info - I will check it out.
I have added clear elastic to the wrong side of the outer sleeve from the hem almost to the shoulder seam, and also to the side seams which is fun and simple.
Another way is to make a double tube of fabric, turn it, insert a drawstring into each tube. Sew the drawstring closed at the top only. Pull the cords up on the sides and then tie them together at the bottom. I forgot to say to sew these like you would piping but to the wrong side of the side seams.
I hope this makes sense. Wish I had a photo to include. Mary
I see what you mean - thanks for the info.
I have done this with sweatshirts but it should work with t shirts too: narrow roll hem serge the neckline below the ribbing and at the sleeve hem and hem. Open the differential all the way and it will curl the edges as it trims off the excess fabric. This is cute with contrasting or decorative thread. The wooly nylon would help it curl up more. Mary
