   Here's how I wind bobbins on my 17-year old Kenmore:

   Turn the inner portion of the hand wheel toward you (sometimes it's tight) to keep the needle mechanism from moving while the bobbin is winding. Put the thread on the thread post and pull the end through the mini tension disks on top of the first thread guide. Put the end of the thread through one of the holes in the bobbin and wind thread around a few turns. Put bobbin on winder post and snap against guide post until it clicks. Press down on foot pedal to wind bobbin. It will stop automatically when full. Hope that helps. Don't forget to re-tighten the inner portion of the hand wheel before you begin to sew.

   *I dug out the manual to my old kenmore. Here are the step by step's:1. Put your spool of thread onto the spool pin2. Pull the clutch away from teh machine to stop the needle from moving while you winding the bobbin (honestly, that's what it says, "you winding the bobbin" - the clutch is on teh right end of the machine, a little spool inside a bigger spool)3. Draw thread from spool through bobbin winder tension disc as shown - it's little screw like thing on top of machine, about 2" in from left edge).4. Place the threaded bobbin on the bobbin winding spindle to the right until it clicks. (that means you wind the thread a few times around the bobin to get it started, then put it on the little silver dohickey that's in front of & to the right of the thread spindle. There's a white thing near that it will "snap" into)5. Push the bobbin winder spindle to the right until it clicks (it clicks into the white dohickey)6. Holding onto the end of thread, depress the foot control7. When teh bobbin is slightly filled, stop the machine and clip the thread coming from the bobbin (they mean the tail of thread from when you started, not the thread coming from the thread spool to the bobbin)8. Slowly start the machine again and wind the thread until the bobbin stops (I always had to use my finger to guide it evenly, maybe your machine is better)9. Push the bobbin winder spindle to the left and clip the thread (duh)10 Remove the bobbin11 Push in the clutch for normal sewing operation.There's a sketch.    *We have a Kenmore model 158.13580 (Ten Stitch)but have no user manual for it. Can anyone suggest where/how we can obtain one?
