knit cuffs and collars

user-510460 | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

I am looking for the knit that is used for shirt and sweater necks and wrists. I want to use it for infant-wear. Some years back, I could go to the store and buy polo shirt collars and also this knit fabric ready to sew —— at necklines and wrists for

(or other shirts) in a wide variety of light colors and in dark colors for sweaters.

Now I can’t even find anyone who knows what I am talking about!

I live in Gilroy, California, about equidistant from Salinas on the south and San Jose on the north. Neither Joann Fabrics nor Beverly’s locally have any idea of where to direct me.

Help!

I remember that stuff!  I didn't know it had disappeared.  I have no help for collars, but you can use socks for the wrists.  See issue #63, March 1996, "There's 'Fabric' in Your Sock Drawer," by Linda Wakefield.

Try Nancy's notions either online or call for their catalogue,  lots of great sewing basics such as cuffs and matching knits etc.  Also there are things that are hard to find,  ie silk organza for underlining etc.
