Has anyone seen patterns for organizing and holding knitting needles? My daughter has asked me to try to make something for her. She has a variety of straight and circular needles.
Thanks,
NH

I have a large collection of needles. The straight needles are held in a roll something like a jewelery travel roll or a holder for paint brushes...each size has its own channel. Double point needles are stored the same way, but with a smaller roll. The circulars are held in hanging holders: horizontal channels are sewn about 4" long so the ends of the needles hang free. It is not a good idea to store circulars rolled up as each time it becomes necessary to straighten them out (using up good knitting time).I would suggest you take a look at the back page advertising in knitting magazines such as Knitters or Interweave Knits. The advertising pictures of needle holders will give you a good idea of what they have to sell for big $$$ that you can make for pennies.
Thanks, I'll have a look at knitting magazines. That's a good suggestion.

I've been off-line & am catching up. Ergo, this info may be of little value now. But for what it might be worth, consider surfing to the following.
The first has both straight & cric info. Scroll through for the latter.

For lurkers, the tipnut.com site also has info for crochet hooks.
