well what do you consider expensive? you may want to try ebay. Try fabric.com or hancockfabrics.com they may have something.
I did find a lace that I liked on the vogue fabric web site they are sending me some samples by expensive I meant anything over $15 a yard. Thanks for your input. Mary
If you live in the Middle Atlantic region of the US, consider stopping in to the G Street Fabric stores in the area around DC. They have beautiful laces and specialty fabrics as well as every other type of fabric immaginable. If a trip there is out of the question, contact them via their web site http://www.gstreetfabrics.com. If you send them a scrap they will match it or contrast it to go with your outfit, whichever you desire.
They are truly a wonder in todays world. Everyone who works there is knowledgable about fabrics and the fiber arts!

If you're using silk charmeuse, a $20/yd. fabric then you'd want to keep on & use the quality lace e.g. French Chantilly lace or Alencon lace. http://www.supremefabrics.com If the "silk" is indeed a polyester look-a-like (and they do look good!) you might try http://www.maryjosclothshop.com (in Gastonia, N.C.) I found some very nice lace for a bride that didn't want the expensive stuff.
