Lets Honour his name – Alexander McQueen

smockerlady | Posted in General Discussion on

Just learned of the very tragic death of Alexander McQueen. I am sure everyone on this forum would like to perhaps post about this wonderful talented designer. Prayers and thoughts go out to his family, friends and colleagues within the fashion industry. A great loss. May he rest in peace.

Like the works of other artist, Michelangelo, Picasso, Van Gogh, Wyeth, Brahms, Stravinsky, Chanel, + + +, Alexander McQueen's efforts will forever continue to inspire many. Life indeed has it's cycle for each of us.

    I certainly won't miss this
I certainly won't miss this idiot. What kind of sicko puts on a "fashion show" called "Highland Rape"? I find this INCREDIBLY offensive... It's this sort of mentality that has put me off so-called "fashion" for YEARS now; I don't even open up Vogue magazine anymore, and I used to be a FAITHFUL reader since my teens! So-called "fashion" these days is just a lot of disgusting circus shenanigans involving half-naked, underfed young women in absurd rags; it stopped being about the clothes YEARS AGO. Now that Yves St Laurent and Charles Kleibacker are dead, "haute couture" is ALSO pretty much dead, as far as I am concerned. Some people might miss this McQueen guy but I am not one of them.

Your being able to express your disdain for the man is the priviledge of freedom of speech we all enjoy within bounds.

Troubled minds present in any number of behaviors. He likely found a way to demonstrate the anguish in his life.

Uninteresteds can always turn a blind eye as you have the right to do.
