There's a great Threads article by Connie Long called "A Shortcut to Great Linings" in issue 60 (aug/sept 1995), pp. 66-68. The section on "Quick-lining a Sleeveless Dress" is just what you need.
If you don't own that issue, you can contact customer service ([email protected]), and they should be able to hook you up with a copy.
Good luck on your project and keep us updated on your progress.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, my issues start with No. 62. Wouldn't you know it.
I only have a week to get this together and I don't know if the #60 issue will arrive in time. Any chance I can get a quick excerpt?
I am going to try and order this issue in the interim. Thanks again!
Thank you for your suggestion to contact Threads for a copy of the article.
I bought Connie Long's book from Borders today and it has the lining technique in it. Will let you know how I make out. Thanks again!
Make a second dress with the lining and eliminate the facings. Instead of 5/8" seams on the lining material make 1/4" seams. With right sides together sew the neck line, turn right side out. Make a small hem around the arm hole and sew the lining and dress material together.
It should work.

Thanks for your suggestion. Will let all know how I made out.
