This is a bit off from sewing, but I figure that many of you like to make other things too~~in all your “free” time 🙂 So, for those of you who enjoy seedbead work or who have friends who do, I wanted to let you know that I’ve just added a brand new “How-To” article to my website. Two of my articles have been published in past issues of “Lapidary Journal,” so I decided to write some specifically for website browsers in search of new patterns. The first article in this new series is “Turning a Geode into a Beaded Pendant.” I hope many of you will enjoy making a necklace like this:
Mazel Tov! How-To Article #1

You are welcome to print out the directions for your personal use or to give to a friend. I just ask that you include my byline and copyright notice (It’s the article that copyrighted, not the design!). If you do make one of these necklaces, I would love to see a scan and maybe be able to include it on my website with a link to you 🙂

Thanks Cyndi, I immediately sent the link to my college age GD. She does a lot of beadwork. The geode is lovely!!
*Cyndi, I don't consider beading to be 'off' the subject of sewing, at all! You were using a needle and thread, weren't you?? Your geode pendant is beautiful. I especially like your subtle use of color.I've thought about creating a Beading folder here at Gatherings, since I myself am a beading fanatic. Do we have enough interest from people who will use it? Folks, let me know if you'd like this. Or could we tuck it into the Knitting/Crochet folder?
*Put it wherever you like...just let us know where it is! I love beading, too.
