Little Girl Sundress

kbalinski | Posted in Photo Gallery on

Simplicity 2912  Patty Reed Girl’s Halter Sundress in Cotton.

Perfect for the humid hot weather we had during the power outage last week.

Love it, will make it again!  I really love the retro-vibe it has, and she loves to twirl in it!

Absolutely precious, and such fine work on the dress too!  I bet that dress will be her favorite all summer, if you can go by that big sunny smile.  I checked out the pattern, and if you can swing it, I'm sure you will find the hat more practical than you think.  I made up at least a dozen similar when my girls were small for them and for quick birthday gifts for their friends.  They were really popular.  Velcro dots held the brim up except when they were in the sun, then they were perfect for the shade, and washed like a charm.  Cathy

Thanks for the tips, Cathy.  I will probably give the hat a shot, since DD won't leave me alone about it.  "But mom, look at the pattern.  It says you HAVE TO MAKE the hat, too!"

      Great gift idea, too.

What a precious little dress. Yes, the almost-circular skirt and the contrast bands definitely give it a fifties look. Brings back memories!

Both the dress and the little lady are like sunshine!

How cute - both the girl & the dress!  Great style - it couldn't be cooler.  As the other posters said, she'll want to wear it on every hot day (you may have to make several) - & the hat, of course, since is HAS to go with the dress :).  Excellent job!  Thanks for sharing.

Ditto as to what all the other posters said:  And yes ...she is absolutely adorable and the dressing darling.

Now then, will someone please tell me what "DH" means?  Sorry I'm so dumb, but I keep seeing that on this website and have not seen it before.  Thanks to whomever will decipher for me.  ;-)

It means Dear Husband - it took me awhile to decipher that, too :)  Some of the abbreviations I still have trouble with, but somewhere in a box yet unpacked, I have a thick list of abbreviations that mostly bloggers use.

Thanks for solving the mystery, Gloria.  And BTW, I just love your quote; it is so true!
