looking for 4″ ribbon

Flax | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

I am looking for 4″ red ribbon suitable for a wedding gown.

It can be retail or wholesale, does anyone have any suggestions where I can find this?

Thanks,

http://www.marthapullen.com has silk ribbon in a variety of widths. (From Martha's Sewing Room on PBS.)

If you have a serger, you can make your own ribbon by doing a rolled hem on each side of your strip of fabric too.  I'd use 40 wt. rayon embroidery thread for it's sheen, if you get "pokies" at the edges, use a water soluble stabilizer and wrap the edges.  Then I wouldn't get the "ribbon" wet, I'd just peel away the stabilizer.  If there is some left, you could remove it by steaming or using a damp Q-tip.

I'm glad to see you back on the forum. I haven't seen you here for a while.

I'd forgotten how much fun it is to get sewing e-mail. You guys are great!

I have shopped and bought ribbon in this store, but have never ordered from the catalog, so I don't know what that is like. However, you can order a sample of ribbon for matching purposes.

Hope you find what you need.
