Looking for a coat I saw on Threads

lindalouise | Posted in General Discussion on

I was on Threads a few days ago. There was a lovely coat posted by a member. The pattern was Butterick 5145. I can not find it again.

If anyone knows what I am talking about I’d appreciate finding the coat again.

Thank you,

Perhaps you were in the Readers Closet section of the website when you saw the coat.

That is where I thought I was but I went through all the posts & it was not there. I've done a general internet search as well in event I was at a different site but can not find. I copied the pattern number from the page that is how I have that.Thanks.

If you just want to see the pattern itself, here is a link to it on the Butterick site: http://www.butterick.com/item/B5145.htm?search=5145&page=1

It's really a lovely coat. Good luck.

Thanks no, I wanted to see the picture I originally saw. It did a beautiful job & you would not recognize it as from that pattern.

I did purchase the pattern this morning. I would like to see that picture again because the lady did a beautiful job. I don't know where else to look, is there another section I am missing?I learned my lesson, next time I will bookmark immediately when I find something.

Linda, I searched around in the "advanced search" option, and I came up with nothing in the limited time I had. I've no more suggestions..... I do hope you eventually find what you are looking for, and please let us see your finished product!

Thank you so much for your kindness & I will post my finished product.

Is it possible you were on this site? http://coatsewalong.blogspot.com/   There are some beautiful coats there and I think I went there from something posted here then bookmarked it.

There was recently a linen garment contest sponsored by Threads. Myabe you saw the coat among the entries in the contest.

Thank you, I've racked my brain trying to figure if I was someplace else. Also did a history search on my computer. Hopefully it will come to me how I found it.I appreciate your effort.

When I did an advanced search on Pattern Review,  I found 7 reviews for that pattern.  Here are the results.  Perhaps one of them is what you are looking for.

Hi, thank you, no that is not the picture I saw that I liked so much. I am convinced I must have ventured off Threads because I've checked the whole site, I did web searches & have seen the pattern made up but not the original pictures I saw & that is when I wrote the pattern number down. Hopefully it will pop up for someone. The interesting part is how different the same pattern looks in terms of quality. It is for sure the ladies to post on Threads do great work.I appreciate your interest.

Well, can you describe details of the coat you liked so we have an idea what you're looking for?

It was Butterick 5145 View E. The collar was open on the picture. That is what caught my eye. I thought the collar was very flattering. Especially for full busted ladies because lapels are not as flattering as just a collar I find. Then the semi waist adds to the silhouette. The pictue was a lady in a plaid fabric. The background was tan with green & dark brown forming the geometric pattern.Wow, it will pop up somewhere.Thank you for your interest.
