Lorain croft artical

apoo | Posted in Feedback on Threads on

I wonder if anyone can help with the resource listed in the Lorain Croft article. I called Steinlauf and Stoller in NY (877-869-0321) and they didn’t have any adhesive Style Tape. They didn’t seem to know what I was talking about. Maybe you can substitute electrical tape or use letraline/chartpak tape (available from the art supply store). Also, where can I get the lightweight draping muslin? I like that it’s sheer so you can see where your seamlines are.

Hope she updates her website soon, the clothes are beautiful.

HI, I don't know about the tape you were asking about but I have been trying to get onto Lorain Croft's website listed at the end of the article.  Nothing comes up and I really love her jackets and so badly wanted to check them out.  I don't know that my sewing skills are up to par for her designs but I would love to own one.  Has anyone been able to access her site.  I assume it is accessable since April's letter makes reference to it. Thanks for any help. Kymlm1

    Hi, April

I just called Steinlauf and figured out that what Lorain was using they call Cold tape...it's basically an adhesive ribbon, also used by furriers as a stay tape. It's about $3 a 25-yd. roll. btw, they'll ship any size order, but charge $5 service if the order is under $50. I've also left a message for Lorian about her website...but, poor kid, she runs her business entirely by herself, and if pretty overwhelmed; frankly, I can't imagine how she does it!
