Making an alteration for a work collegue
Hello everyone
Against my better judgement I have been talked into altering a pari of RTW trousers for a colleague. I have never felt that confident about trying this but as I say talked into it.
I watched a video which appeared really straight forward and this seemed full proof, however the low waistband on actual trouser have a two piece and the technique I followed has ended up with a pucker/tuck between the layers.
I have unpicked and resewn each layers seperately but the inside looks a mess. I am thinking of unpicking again and covering the inside with a stip of growgrain ribbon and then sew the top and bottom layers to join it back together.
Is this a good idea or has someone go a better fix?? Thanks in advance for your help.

Pant Alteration
Men or women's pants? Men's dress pants have a two piece waist band that is pretty easy to take in or let out.

Alterations
Open the seams and press out the old seam line, then trim away the excess fabric and re-seam. To enlarge the garment, press out the old seams and make a narrower seam.
The inside is stabilizer.
Glue sticks also help hold bits and pieces together in place of basting with thread and needle.
I prefer Aleene's Tacky Glue sticks. Keep the lid tight and they do not dry out like the craft/school glue sticks.
