Making knotted frog closures

artfulenterprises | Posted in The Archives on

Seems to me I recently saw an article in Threads about making your own knotted button and loop closures but be danged if I can find it now! Does anyone out there have a clue as to which issue showed this classic embellishment technique?

Thanks Starzoe! Not sure I have that issue but I'll check my archives....sounds like an issue before I started collecting them. Could have sworn there was an issue within the last 4 to 6 months that illustrated the process too....but of course, I could have seen it anywhere and just thought it was Threads! I knew one of you wise women would have the answer! :o)
      Best to you....

"EEH By Gum" I tried to follow this link - trying to do CNTRL-F(078) as the page tells you to ...and then all hell let loose! I am so vague about what to do on the internet sometimes - what did I do wrong?

I sent you a link to see which Threads magazine had articles about frog closures.

Key in Ctrl-F to search this page for your keyword: Which means click Ctrl-F which brings up a little menu asking for the keyword to search.

Ctrl-F can be used to search anything on a page, webpage, any microsoft software.

Next time you search for anything on the web:

         put in your keyword

a whole lot of searches come up

key Ctrl-F. A little menu comes up. Put in the keyword you are most interested to find in several million results of the web search. Your first reference will appear highlighted.

But you don't need that for your current search; you can simply fill the keyword in the space below the highlighted alphabet .

You used to be able to see the table of contents by clicking the highlighted issue no. (in this case 78) but for this issue it doesn't link to anything useful.

Feel free to ask if it still doesn't help. I shall send you screen dumps to illustrate

Thank you for being so helpful!
Though I did have a chuckle to myself as over here - a "dump" has a slightly "lavatorial" connertation!!
I will have to write down what to do for myself though - cos I will probably forget what you have said within a week if I don't keep doing it!
          Thanks jan

"dump" has a slightly "lavatorial" connertation I would like to know - haven't heard of that context.

hate to be a bit crude - but if you can imagine "going for a dump" is a very crude way of saying that you are going to the toilet!
Can be funny in certain circumstances.

Thank you Cherrypops...as it turned out, I did have that #58 issue of Threads only to discover someone had already torn out the pages on knotted closures! That issue must have come from a friend who was cleaning house,,,, This will help with a little evening jacket I'm making as a birthday gift for my sis. (She's the lady in the grey knit dress on my MySpace page)

Happy to read you found #58. being out of print and there are no online pages to view. Shame though some pages were missing. Lucky I found the other links. Enjoy creating...i'm sure Sis will love it.
