Need some expert advise.
I’m sewing an underlined silk satin
dress with an empire waist. Having
difficulty exactly matching the
horizontal and vertical seams on the
side seams.

Same issue on the back where the
inviside zipper goes.

Anyone know a foolproof way to ensure
that there’s a nice shart + where the
seams

I would try hand basting the seams together beginning about 1 and 5/8 inch before the seam cross. Bring the needle EXACTLY (check often) through the seam while basting, with stitches fairly close together. So, on the side seam one would baste through the side seams first before sewing the waistline seam and on the centerback seam, one would baste through the waistline seam.

I think that would hold them in place. It usually works for me.
