Finding a men’s padded, pinable dress form in a size 48″ chest is pretty near impossible. Most only go to a 44″, I have found a couple that will go to a 46″. Considering a 48″ is only a size XL, it is amazing how difficult they are to fine. I found one company in NY that is willing to make one at the price of $850.00 not including shipping & handling, which is slightly out of my budget. I was in NYC last week and searched the garment district thinking this wouldn’t be such a difficult task…Nothing! I have an adjustable one that goes to a 44″ but the cheap plastic adjusting screws are brittle and break easily. Plus the thin foam layer over the top claims to be pinable…it isn’t. Does anyone out there have any resources they know of that may be of some help? If I could find a used one, that would be even better. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks…Steven

Is this dress form for yourself or someone close to you? If so, make your own paper tape or duct tape form. If it's for yourself, you will need a friend to wrap you, but it's fun & only takes a few hours. They are the most inexpensive forms & copy the body perfectly. Check out the archives in the left-hand column of Gatherings, as there are many threads on these forms, as well as links for instructions to make them. Good luck!
