metrosene online source

Elisabeth | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

Does anyone have a good online source for Mettler/Metrosene threads? One that carries most or all of the types, not just the general purpose, would be ideal. I’ve looked on some of the fabric online stores and they seem to favor Gutterman and Coats. I was hoping for a fabric and thread source in one. I’m getting dizzy looking, help!

Elisabeth - Try Threadpro.com. I think they carry the entire Metrosene line, or at least a good part of it. I've only ordered from them once but was very happy with their service. Good luck!

Hi, Elisabeth: you might also want to try http://www.webofthread.com

No fabric - but this site turned me into a thread-aholic.

Elisabeth:  Try Hancock Fabrics online at http://www.hancockfabrics.com  According to the sale flyer they just e-mailed me, they have it and it is on sale.

Sawyer Brook is my favorite mail fabric source and they carry Metrosene.  I usually just ask for best match when I order fabric, but if you send them a small swatch of your fabric(s) they'll match it up.

Also Newark Dressmaker Supply--newarkdress.com--carries a full line of Metrosene and will also send out a complete color list.  They have a mail order catalog.

Gosh, someone to match the thread to your fabric purchase (and I should add, someone you can trust). That sounds pretty good right now. When I first posted I was simply tired of going to the closest fabric store 25 miles away that has Metrosene, especially because the people who work there are, forgive me for saying this, but they act mean and I'm not the only one who says that. Then last week someone rear ended my car and totalled it on my way to town to see a customer. Now I really don't want to go to town to that store!!! Let the ups person do the driving. I'm not seeing customers any more either, time to sew for myself finally. My wardrobe is as lean and spindly as a storks legs right now. I had forgotten about Newark Dressmaker Supply. I have a three year old catalog from them. Thanks so much for the suggestions and thank you to the other post-ers for site info. There is lots of thread out there, it is inspiring.
