Miter technique connecting neck/zipper?

carolynfla | Posted in General Discussion on

I have seen garments with a smart, smooth (maybe miter) technique for connecting/finishing your garment at the neck and zipper facings – center back.

I searched the THREADS magazine index, but found nothing. However, I do think I read something about this in the past 18-mos of THREADS.

Does anyone know what I’m speaking of and/or how to instruct to do such a technique?

Thanks, CAROLYN

Claire Shaeffer explains "how to sew a facing finish for a slot zipper" on page 113 of her book "High-Fashion Sewing Secrets from the World's Best Designers". Since I discovered it, I systematically use it. It's fool-proof, quick and the result is very clean.
