Miyake shirt

I recently attempted to draft a pattern (my first attempt) for the Miyake shirt featured in the Apr/May 98 issue. Did anyone else have difficulty with the measurements? I plan on making the first shirt out of an old sheet to make sure that the measurements were correct. Any hints will be greatly appreciated.

There was a correction to the pattern in a later issue of Threads. The short underarm part of the sleeve is actually 3 inches in length, not three inches horizontally. The dimension of the sleeve at the mid-underarm point is 24-5/8 inches. The body length from shoulder to hem is 29 inches, not 27-1/2 inches. I made the shirt and found it to be on the large side (I'm 5'2"). Making a test is a good idea - I made one from an old sheet and adjusted to fit. Now that it's been fit tested I love it. It's really versatile. Good luck!
