Miyake’s Vogue 1052 Jacket Pattern Threads Jan. 2010

mpcobb | Posted in Feedback on Threads on

I am trying to recreate the denim jacket in the Jan 2010 issue and have a few questions. Is the collar made out of silk or linen with an organza one over it? Is the collar shortened or redesigned in some way?

    Miyake Vogue 1052 Jacket

    Hi mpcobb,

I've contacted the author with your questions.  Hopefully, she'll respond to me quickly with information to help you.  When I do hear from her, I'll reply again to your post.

I've heard back from the author.  Here are her comments:  The collar is two layers of silk organza.  She finished the edges with a serged rolled edge and cut the top collar slightly smaller than the buttom one.  She narrowed the collars because she's small, and they were large. She didn't add the buttons and buttonholes to the collar either, so the jacket doesn't close as shown on the pattern.  She's pretty sure she didn't reshape or shorten the collar any more than she shortened the jacket overall (1-3/4 inches).

Hopefully this is helpful to you.
