Hi,
I am trying to make a mobius scarf from the Oct/Nov 2000 threads mag. I’ve gotten the pattern enlarged to 400% and made a sample. It is far too small. There needs to be a length of material added to the smaller end of the pattern. Help! has anyone had success with this scarf

I made one of these scarves way back and it was discussed within this group, but I guess the archive that far back is now lost.
The magnification given in Threads is wrong, but I can't remember what the correct magnification turned out to be - possibly twice the stated ones. I will measure my scarf when I get home and let you know the length and width of each piece.
This scarf is not a Mobius strip The article is incorrect.

Here is the earlier discussion.

Thank you for helping with the mobius scarf issue. Thus far what I thought to do was add on 10 inches to each pattern piece, making it 20 inches, to go around my neck and giving me the length. I hope you can help with the measurements.

Each of my pieces is 20 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide at the narrow end and 9 3/4 inches at the wide end plus seam allowances. I made a two colour scarf, and decided that the two colour method of construction was easier than the one colour.

Ghillie
Thank you ever so much for the time and effort to measure the scarf and get back to me. As I constuct it and wear it, I'll think of you.
