Mother of the Bride dress

Colleen_Peake | Posted in The Archives on

I am I the mother of the bride this summer. The dresses in the shops are dreadfully boring, oldish and pale. I want to do something different, like perhaps some texturizing, couching, crazy quilting on some fine fabrics, etc. I have done these techniques for jackets but am fearful of doing so on special fabrics. Does anyone have any suggestions to boost my confidence and get me into action? Thanks CP

1 - It is a total pleasure and delight working with wonderful fabrics

2- See if you can buy remnants It will remove some of the scarey factor.

3 - If what you do looks good with lesser fabrics it will only look even more wonderful with the good stuff

4 - If you plan to crazy quilt slippery silks you may want to stitch everything to either freezer paper, muslin, or sheer gazar to help keep the fabrics from misbehaving

5 - DO IT DO IT DO IT
