My 4 y.o snitched on me! LOL

kbalinski | Posted in General Discussion on

So, this story starts last week, when we finished our visit to the zoo (me and the 2 kids) and I decided to take advantage of how close we were to a local fabric store that I rarely get to visit (Haberman’s in Royal Oak, MI).  It was awfully close to nap time, so I wasn’t sure how long our visit would last, but I figured 5 minutes in heaven is better than none, so in we went.  Imagine my pleasure and surprise to find a children’s play area inside the store!  I did my little dance of joy, and off ran my 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son.  I was able to see them and hear them, and shop for beautiful designer fabric.  Did I mention, there was a sale?  Anyhow, the kids were great, I was happy, no problems whatsoever.  5 cuts (2 jackets, 2 skirts, a dress), and a pattern purchased, we headed home very happy.  I didn’t mention the stop to dear hubby…

Cut to today, when dear daughter says (over and over), “Mommy, can we go to the new fabric store with the toys?”  Ignore, hoping hubby doesn’t hear her… Nope, no chance.  “What is she talking about?” he asks.  I claim ignorance, and say she must be confused, we went to a bead store that had toys.  I guess we’ll have to plan another trip to the zoo…

Hope you smiled,

Kristine

Thanks for the sweet story!  What a wonderful fabric store to be so considerate as to have the children's area!!!  Also very clever of them!

Have fun on your next trip to the "zoo", you might even skip seeing the animals next time....he he he    Mary

Hi Kristine!  I just got back from a visit to the US where I went to Haberman's - we were probably there on the same day!  I was really impressed with their fabrics and prices and their remnant tables - very cool!

You are so busted!  Thanks for the giggle!

At least it was just your husband.  The school wanted to put our second son in speech therapy because he didn't realize that bobbin and bottom were two separate words.  Talk about egg on my face!
