Does anyone know about the Necchi brand sewing machines and sergers? Do they have a good reputation for working well? Do you have any information about the company? Where they’re from, etc. I’m also wondering about Elna sergers? Thanks, comcosew

I had a Necchi and loved it. My aunt had one for years and that was the only thing she would sew on. I gave my Necchi to my neice because she wanted a good basic machine, which mine was, and I took my mothers Janome that did all the fancy stuff. "My" new machine is great and I love it, but I think the stitches and button holes I made with my Necchi were prettier. Hope this helps.
This probably won't be really helpful to you in todays world, but I have a Necci that is almost 40 years old, that still sews like a dream for my daughter. Smooth as silk. I have no idea what their machines are like now tho-
Thank you for the replies. Comocosew
agree Necchi lasted a long time. Say 20+years and Elna also was great have my favorite one still for over 14 years. HOWEVER I do think that elna has been purchased by a different company so My Elna dealer sells Janome. I have heard great things about Bernina, I would NOT get the Elna pro 5 serger. Good to ask others but best to try them out with fabric you will probably use most from a dealer you respect. Happy sewing!
