Need help finding zipper(s)

Hello, all.

First, thanks to all who participate here, and those who make the site possible.

My wife and I have a home-based clothing alteration and repair shop, and often have to try to find unusual zippers. Usually we have pretty good luck- but…

Presently, I am searching for a 30 to 36 inch long #3 brass tooth seperating zipper, with jade green tape. (not asking for much, eh? :<)

#5 brass would do, or even #5 coil, but I would prefer to find a more exact replacement for one of her favorite dresses (even more so since I am the party most responsible for the demise of present zipper) (it got stuck in her slip, “Here, let me help ya, hon.” Well, now a tooth is missing and it won’t stay zipped up for long before it begins to split apart. Maybe brute force is NOT always the best recourse. But hey, I’m a guy. I WAS trying to help!!!)

We have had lots of luck in the past at www.zippersplus.com, www.zipperconnection.com, www.soloslide.com, and other sites, but have not found this particular size/color combination anywhere as yet.

Any hints on possible suppliers?

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thanks in advance for any leads.

I found an add that says they can make "made-to-order" zippers. http://www.zippersource.com

*Try Custom Zips in South Norwalk, CT. They have 37 colors, several teeth styles and can do separating, reversible, and 2-way separating. Their customer service is excellent -- I usually get the zipper within the week. Their phone number is 1-203-866-1540, or you can write them at Box 1200, South Norwalk, CT 06856. Sometimes you can get their order sheet at JoAnn's Fabrics, displayed over the zippers. Good Luck!
