I am planning on purchasing a machine that embroiders. Does anyone have any suggestions on which embroidery sewing machine or embroider machine is better for home/minor use?

One of the ramifications of having an embroidery machine is that it is a more intricate machine that might need repair and/or adjustment more often. And embroidery thread, needles, and patterns aren't cheap.
It will probably be computerized. Are you prepared to replace a computerized circuit board? I just had to replace one. It was pricey, but I love my machine and wouldn't trade it for another. All the other machines I've had in the past have made me realize how wonderful the new machine is.
I bought a demo to save money, but I think there are some wonderful used machines around. Ask your dealer about the condition of the used machines, they'll tell you, I'll bet. And you will probably need dealer support, so I am leery of mass-marketed machines and the internet??
The first rule of purchasing any machine is to first find a dealer you trust - preferably someone who services machines. There are wonderful machines among all the brands.
Common wisdom has it that first, you buy a dealer. Then look at the machines he/she sells! Good support, good classes, are important. I am personally a Viking fan, but then I'm the one that gives the support and classes!
