Hello everyone,
I’m new to this forum and I have a costume pattern question I’m hoping someone can help me with.
I have a friend who wants a tick costume. I was thinking of using a spider costume and just adding 6 legs instead of 8, but I’ve been searching around on the internet and have not found much. I’ll probably need a women’s large, but I could wing it with any size.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
Amy

http://www.simplicity.com/index.cfm?cat=4&type=19&sec=44&startrow=1simplicity pattern 3993 is a ball that can be turned into a pumpkin, spider, etc. adult and child size pattern. i don't like the goofy spider face shown applied to the front; you could make it much cooler by leaving that off.
be sure to alter the tick legs to be shorter and preferably curved.
Thanks so much for the info- I bought the pattern- Simplicity was on sale last weekend!
Ticks have eight legs, too!
i was thinking the same thing but had not bothered to research. they are arachnids too, right?
Yes, they have do 8 legs! I don't know what I was thinking. The deer ticks around here are so small that you can't really count their legs. I got the Simplicity pattern- I think I'll go with that one with a few modifications.
