I tried my friend's last winter. It was fun and faster than a hand felting tool. I don't thing I would use one much and have very limited space or I would probably have a similar machine.

I recently purchased a felter and in doing my research decided that the attachment did not make a lot of people happy. The chief reason is felting makes massive amounts of lint. A dedicated felting machine has its works sealed off from the lint and the lint is easily removable. In the machine with the attachment I have read that the huge amount of lint can really mess up a regular machine. I haven't tried the attachment but did read this in several places. If I remember right the Bernina attachment was very expensive. The embellishers/felters are not.

I wouldn't put an attachment on my sewing machine either. My friend bought an old machine with a working motor and the shop removed the bobbin assembly. Her total cost was < $100. I haven't used a dedicated machine so I can't compare the 2.
