New! Bamboo/Cotton Fleece and Ribknit!

KharminJ | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

WooHoo! I just checked the FabricsandNotions_Made_to_Order Yahoo! group, and discovered that they have just listed 60″ bamboo and cotton knit fleece with matching 52″ rib knits – in 9 colors including “natural PFD”. Prices will be $9 – 12 per yard, plus shipping. Here’s the original post:http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FabricsandNotions_Made_to_Order/message/155and the databases:http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FabricsandNotions_Made_to_Order/database?method=reportRows&tbl=15 fleeceand http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FabricsandNotions_Made_to_Order/database?method=reportRows&tbl=16 rib knit. You may have to join the group to view them ~ let me know if anyone needs help. Those prices are great, and the colors will be difficult-to-impossible to find in yardage! Delivery is expected by August. Kharmin, who is starting a new change jar just for this stuff!

Thanks for the links, Kharmin.  I tried to join (but not sure if it worked yet), so time will tell.  Since notions are such an important part of sewing, it should be interesting to see what the forum is about.

As an aside:  I bought thread for "the rest of this years projects" yesterday, and I nearly fainted when the bill was added up.  I haven't had to buy thread for several years, and didn't bother to check the price.  Wow!  It was quite the surprise!  However, I now have all the goodies to complete most of my stash by Christmas - which is my goal.  The big question:  Will I make the goal ...or will there be a bit of "residue" come New Years Day?  Chuckle chuckle!

HehHeh!>The big question: Will I make the goal ...or will there be a bit of "residue" come New Years Day?That'll prob'ly depend on if you *add more projects* to the goal-list, or freeze it where it is now ... (Yeah, right!)(wink)I hope at least you hit a thread sale - it sure does add up fast!Happy Finishing!!Kharmin

Actually, I did hit a thread sale ...and still nearly had a coronary!

And yes ...*add more projects* to the goal-list, or freeze it where it is now ...Good Point Indeed!!  I already found a note to myself to add "..." for a wardrobe fill-in.  Ah, well ...

I guess we fabric "stashers" (aren't all sewists?) are just doomed to never, ever catch up.

Mary ~ the trick, I think, is to start a NEW list every once in a while, instead of constantly adding to the same one. That way, at least *one* list may, eventually, be completely crossed off! (grin - I'll let you know when that works, too!) K

    Hi All
I am a member of Fabrics and Notions and just to let you know, you will have to join the group and have your first post moderated. You do have to post so introduce yourself. This is a busy co-op and there are lots of things to learn. It's really hard to stay on top of things if you are a digest reader and some days this group can post upwards of 150 emails.
It is hard to resist the wand of the Evil Fabric Queen, but the fabrics are well worth the time and money to be a part of this group. Starting my third year with bamboo.

Hi Jann ~ Happy to hear of others who've had success with this group! I am still a total n00bie there (haven't succumbed to the Magic Wand yet), so please, feel free to answer any questions *from experience*! Bright Blessings!Kharmin

The wand is wicked and you don't succumb to it, it just zaps you from way out somewhere, and the next thing you know, you must have that fabric. Some of these garment fabrics I haven't seen in years. My latest buy includes a 6 yard piece of pale pink silk/rayon velvet. I've purchased real silk organza, wool crepe, wool jersey, lots of interlock knits,,,,on and on. I really like the quality she has found for the group, (of course it helps that she likes to sew also). It has been fun being a part of this group.
