new machine

threader | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

any feedback on the brother 6000i machine I am looking at purchasing for my daughter, a beginning sewer

These sites have  positive reviews - http://reviews.pricegrabber.com/sewing-machines-accessories/m/19104406/

I am not sure this machine is sold through a dealer.  A new sew-er needs some hands-on help from time to time.

If you sew and can help her, then I see no reason to not purchase the machine.

I notice that you used "sew-er" just as I do.  I think we are in the minority as most have been using "sewist".

Sewist sounds too communist and socialist.

No one wants to be referred to as a seamstress - that was grandma's occupation.

I wonder if tailors have identity issues (lol).

Try http://www.patternreview.com  They have sewing machine reviews posted by their owners.  Hope you find what you are looking for! She will be thrilled!  Mary
