I remember reading a listing of shops to visit in the garment district when in New York: ribbon shops, fabric shops, etc. It was extensive and complete; I would like to locate this informations to print it out. Thank you for your help. Wanda

The stores in the Garment District are pretty much concentrated in one area of NYC, all within a few blocks, mostly door to next door. It's best to just stroll up and down the streets within those blocks to ensure you don't miss anything and get to see what each store has to offer. They each offer excellent service and are more than happy to point you in the right direction if you can't find exactly what your looking for. The Garment District's shopping area is about 5 city blocks long and 2 avenues wide. Don't be overwhelmed by looking at maps because it shows you the entire district including manufacturers, schools, etc.
What are a few names of these blocks?
Thanks.
If you concentrate on 38th-40th streets beween 6th and 7th avenues, you'll be in fabric heaven! Also, many fabrics aren't on street level (i.e. Spandex House, B&J), so be sure to look up!Karen
Exactly right...just walk up and down, and remember to breathe! You will see it all. It's heaven!
