Hello!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m new to the discussion group. Frankly, I don’t know what to expect. I love to sew and do all day long in my workshop which is my business. I live in Montgomery, AL. but not a native. Transplanted from Metro Atlanta GA. two years ago. I’m a Trained Sewing Educator and Certified Sulky Teacher. Been sewing for over 40 years. Hope to pick up ideas from the group.

Hi and welcome. I feel as though you are my neighbor. I live in Birmingham, AL. Sulky threads are so beautiful. How did you get to be a Sulky Teacher? That is awesome.Marcy

      Hi,

When I lived in Atlanta I taught sewing classes at on of the Joann's. There was an advertizement to the educators. If you're interested in the Sulky Certified teacher training you can see the schedule at the website. It was fun to learn the free motion embroidery and the thread art.

    Hi,

When I started sewing some 40+ years ago my mom had a Singer sewing machine like the one your mother-in -law gave you. Over the years she had a motor put on it.

I started teaching the Kids Can Sew program back in 1988 when my daughter was eight years old. She is now 26yrs. I ran my Sewing School out of my home as a piano teacher does. I have taught many young ladies and young men to sew. It's very satisfying to sew them look proud after a project.

Now I sew a lot of bridal and do some custom work. My love and passion is to teach anyone who wants to learn to sew. I've always wanted to be an artist so the free motion embroidery and thread art intrigues me. I'm having fun.
