   Actually they are probably costume shop scissors ruined by students who grab the first pair of scissors they see to cut cardboard and wire.

   This discussion must have started somewhere else.  Could you tell me where?  "Confiscated scissors" sound interesting.  Once, when I had to report for jury duty, they confiscated my tiny pink Swiss army knife (they did give it back at the end) but let me keep the crochet hook I was using.     rjf

   It is intriguing.  From now on, if I'm waiting somewhere with nothing to read, I can invent scenarios of how one collects 9 pounds of scissors, who would collect 9 pounds of scissors and what will happen to those 9 pounds of scissors.   rjf
