This is a lap quilt for my grandma, who is 97. The block is called “Brasstown Star” and the quilting is an overall meandering leaf.

It's just beautiful! I love the way the meandering leaves quilting ties in with the small print and overall design of the quilt. You are so good at pulling all the facets togeather. I'd love to be your student and learn to make such lovely quilts and especially to do it on a treadle!!!
She will treasure your heartmade gift and it will keep her cozy whether on the bed or the wall. 97 years young, she's an antique little girl! Mary
Wow! Looks like you mimicked the pattern in one of the fabrics for the quilting. And you did that freehand? Did I mention Wow?
Very beautiful gift.

I did pull the heart-shaped leaf from the fabric for the leaves in the quilting. One of the easiest ways to tie the quilting into the top is to use a motif in one of the fabrics.
Very beautiful. I like the quilt pattern too. Great!
Oh, another beauty! I love those leaves. And the colors.
Thanks for your nice comments everyone. I just finished a hat and mittens for a niece and I think I have everything wrapped that's got to go to southern Minnesota tomorrow. Time to do some dishes and fold laundry while my youngest daughter works on the lefse.

enjoy your trip!
