I just did the same thing you did. You have to post a first message under your discussion for any one else to be able to… Go post something and we can start to chat.

And you could call the chat folder "Notions for after hours." or "Late night notions." Or "The remblement bin."

*How about 'Gather for a chat'? That's what occurred to me in the middle of the night yesterday, anyway. You're right that someone has to start the chat first....so, welcome. I hope you don't have trouble finding this thread in the new folder.

*You're right, Karen, I realized as I was climbing into bed that someone had to add a discussion, that you had created a "folder." Oops. Thanks. "I like gather for a chat." I'll bounce over here from "Sprout Off" when I get some worthy thoughts! One discussion over in the woodshed was interesting. It was a comparison between sewing and carpentry and it got some people thinking. If I find the thread I will post it later today. I'd like the fiber enthusiasts perspective.

*T., I'd love to see that thread about the wood/fiber comparison...i've always felt that sewing was like 'building' clothing. and we both use the word 'constructing'. in fact, this concept was part of my working title for the lingerie book--i had called it "Lingerie Built for Comfort" (a little on the bluesy side, with the implication--'not built for speed'). I'd go searching for it right now, except that i pretty much worked through the night last night, and i'm feeling it. i think it's gonna be an early night.

*Heck, Luka, now they're going to read the bit about the Woodshed being more fun than over here!Sorry, sewing folks. Y'all are much more considerate toward each other over here! Not nearly the same ruckus level as the Woodshed. We "folks of fiber" could probably get into a dust up or two, and get hilarious, right?Really, all the denizens of gatherings should go over en masse and bust up the deer hunting thread over there.

Luka...haven't seen your name round here for quite a while.  I think about you especially when I've let my tea get a bit on the powerful side.  Hope all's well with you.

Hi Karen,   The message this is a reply to is the message that prompted my note and I think it was the message preceding yours that started the wood/cloth analogy.  But it was a while ago.  Sometimes I rummage through the old ones.      rjf
