I’m looking for a pattern for an old fashion nightgown – the sort you see in Pride and Prejudice for example – VERY full, probably muslin, sort of drapey, probably some lace. I’ve looking in the basic pattern catalogues but can’t find anything that really suits. Any suggestions?

Jennifer, search at http://www.google.com for vintage patterns. I'll bet you can find something there.
*Well, I did look there and still didn't see what I'm picturing in my head so any other suggestions would be appreciated.Jennifer
*Folkwear has a pattern like the one you're looking for. It's called "Beautiful Dreamer," I think. I underdstand that you can get Folkwear Patterns at http://www.larkbooks.com
*I have used the Beautiful Dreamer pattern by Folkwear that Elona suggests. It is a beautiful pattern. I have made 4-5 nightdresses in batiste and flannel for myself and for gifts. It is very Jane Austin.
