Old Sewing Machine

Susieq | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction.  I have an old (over 50 years) New Home machine which belonged to my mother.  It is in a cabinet and has not been used for many years.  The last time it was in regular use it worked fine.  I’m in the process of unloading things (does any one person reallllly need 6 sewing machines?) and have someone who would like this machine.  When I opened it to clean it up a bit I discovered that the metal throat plate is missing.  I haven’t a clue as to where it might be.  Can anyone suggest where I might begin to look for a replacement for it?  Thanks in advance!

Maybe you could google it for parts. I see one place http://www.ismacs.net/parts.html

Don't know anything about it, though.

I had the same part missing from an old Singer, so I went to the local Sew 'n Vac guy who has been in business forever, and he had a big box full of throat plates.  We found one that fit and he charged me two bucks.
