Online source for Indian cotton yardage

lulubellesmom | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

I am looking for an online fabric source for a cotton that I see frequently in store-bought garments such as summer blouses and peasant skirts, but have never seen in a fabric store. The cotton is always Indian cotton, very soft and “old” feeling, light and airy. April Cornell garments, for instance, often seem to be made of this type of cotton. Any suggestions?

I looked around the fabric stores for the same thing in Jackson Heights(Queens) to no avail. I've been on this quest for a while. I've considered, but not tried, the bedspread route.

Heritage Trading, a store on e-bay has hand blocked cottons made in India. I've bought trim from them, but haven't bought any fabric. Their prices are amazing.Jane
