I was on the net and read a new name for what I love to do and i like it better than the usual lable. I am now a new and politically correct “Sewist”. Its my very first time in a discussion group so i am dipping my toes into the ocean to test the water.

Hi and welcome! "sewists" is a great term, one size fits all. "seamstress and seamsters" seemed awkward! I like your metaphore and would like to literally dip my toes in the ocean but will have to settle for the hot tub here, it snowed again yesterday!
I am daydreamin of living near the coast!!! Maybe we will take a vacation soon! Love the ocean!!!
