Paisley Brocade – pic attached

RobertBishop | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

Can anyone suggest a source for a fabric I’ve seen on a liturgical supply site – “Paisley Brocade – woven in England of polyester, viscose, and gold metallic threads?”  The vendor will not sell the fabric, just finished vestments.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would just google brocade  and see what happens . Its not a particularly unusual example of the fabric.

I bought some paisley brocade at Manhattan fabrics, but it didn't have the purple color in it.

Have you considered e-mailing that swatch to some of the online stores to see if they can help you locate something similar in their stock?

This one had some nice paisley's but not the same as your swatch:

I have no idea how much more this vendor has that is not online:

Good luck and if you find the material somewhere, please let us know where - it's beautiful.

    HelloRobertBishop,

Were you successful in finding your required fabric?

    Hi Robert,

I was looking through a page that Threads has with a long list of fabric sources.

One I clicked on has "Church fabrics" - this is their website -http://www.kaplansfabrics.com/ .  I don't know if they might be able to help you out.  They also carry other types of fabrics.  They show some beautiful fabrics under their "Apparel" section also.  A call to them might result in some help or a lead.

Also, please see this website - http://www.michaelsfabrics.com/ .  He is  very customer service oriented and the write up on his home page was encouraging - he might be able to help you with this.

I just found another website - http://www.fabricgallery.net/ecclesiastical/index.html    "Brocades, trims, fringes, and appliques - the finest quality for religious garments, banners, and cloths. Ability to special order to meet your needs."

Thanks for all your suggestions. I haven't had a chance to follow up yet - I don't need to make the vest until next fall, and I've gotten side tracked with other projects. I will keep you posted ...
      Again, thanks
      Robert
