Pants Cuffs

Can someone please give me a cook book method for shortening men’s pants with cuffs. Thanks alot.

    I mark the finished hem length without a cuff. Then I add 3 1/2" to the finished length and cut it at this length. It must be straight - no slanting from front to lower in back. Finish the raw edge and fold up the hem 1 1/4 inches below your finished length. You will be making a hem of 2 1/4 inches. Sew the hem. Fold up 1 1/4 " cuff. Press. Tack at the seam lines. With this method the hem is slightly smaller than the cuff and you can easily hide the hem stitching under the cuff. I still would use a blind hem to hem it.
