I’m looking for a well-fitting, relatively easy pants pattern. I would prerfer a non-elastic waistband with a front or side zipper, not a pull on pant.
Thanks.

If you search in previous threads under "Pants Fitting," you'll find many, many posts about pants patterns that are great for one body type and awful for another. Maybe if you define your body type with your request, someone with a matching type will have the perfect pattern for you. Some important considerations are length of rise (short or long crotch), roundness/flatness in front and back, and whether you like the waistline to sit at or below the natural waistline.
The best fitting pants I've ever made are from a basic Burda pattern. That one no longer exists, but they have other basics. The last person was right about different people having different needs. My weight is in my rear. RTW clothes usually pull through the front thighs and have too much fabric over the stomach. Burda patterns have the seam that connects the pants front to back much farther forward than American patterns. In American patterns the front and back have about the same amount of extension toward the crotch. In Burda, the back extends much, much further than the front, (which is quite short.) That's perfect for my figure and gives me a nice smooth front, few wrinkles and comfort in the thighs.
In direct contrast, I have a flat bottom, a very short rise, and a round belly, plus a big difference between my waist and hip measurements, so your Burda wouldn't work for me at all.
Well, we've at least narrowed the field!
Sounds familiar! What pant pattern works for you? Thanks.
