pattern drafting

bonne | Posted in Patterns on

How does one get names of people who will draft slopers for them. I need someone to draft a slacks pattern and bodice pattern for me as the store bought items do not fit and most often do not have enough fabric to adjust to fit.

Most dressmakers in the yellowpages should know how to draft basic patterns, as well as Tailors.
    Try them first.

You might also have luck making a fitting sloper, and then finding a dressmaker who can help you adjust that for a perfect fit. I recommend you look at http://www.PACCprofessionals.org, the site for the Professional Association of Custom Clothiers. I believe they have a directory of members, so you might be able to find someone locally to help out.

Thanks for the website!  I intend to locate someone to help me with fitting tops, I have been reading up on altering for larger busts and muddling along, I think it is time to bring in a professional before I declare this "Mission Impossible" Mary
